🌟 Admin / Support Worker – Move-On
📍 Golders Green, NW11 | 💼 Full-Time | 💰 £14-£15 per hour
Are you an experienced Homelessness Support Worker with strong experience supporting residents with move-on into independent accommodation, alongside excellent administration skills?
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and compassionate Admin / Support Worker to join a supported housing service in Golders Green.
This role combines frontline homelessness support, move-on work and administration, supporting residents with housing, benefits, tenancy sustainment and their transition into independent accommodation.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Supporting residents with move-on from supported accommodation
- Identifying suitable private rented accommodation and PRS opportunities
- Liaising with Barnet Homes, councils, landlords and housing providers
- Arranging and accompanying residents to property viewings
- Supporting residents with tenancy applications, sign-ups and documentation
- Helping residents set up Universal Credit Housing Costs
- Supporting Alternative Payment Arrangements (APA) where required
- Supporting residents with tenancy sustainment following move-on
- Completing check-in/check-out paperwork, licence agreements and inductions
- Conducting room inspections and maintaining accurate resident records
- Supporting residents with Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, PIP and UC50 applications
- Monitoring service charge payments and following up missed payments
- Maintaining accurate databases, spreadsheets and case records
- Managing general administrative and housing-related paperwork
- Reporting and following up repairs with landlords and relevant agencies
- Working closely with Support Workers and external agencies
👤 About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong experience working within homelessness or supported housing
- Proven experience supporting residents with move-on into independent accommodation
- Good knowledge of private rented sector move-on
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Excellent record-keeping and attention to detail
- Experience managing databases, spreadsheets and online systems
- Experience working with landlords, councils and housing providers
- Knowledge of Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and tenancy sustainment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A proactive approach and ability to manage multiple tasks
- A compassionate, patient and non-judgemental approach
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
