Ready for more responsibility in finance? Or seeking a rewarding position closer to home?

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Finance Officer for an established, community-focused housing association in Doune, Stirling.

This permanent Finance Officer opportunity offers a varied role, flexibility and opportunities to develop your experience.

You don’t need to have worked in housing before. We’re interested in people with strong finance foundations and the confidence to build on them.

The opportunity

You’ll join a small Finance and Corporate Services team, supporting the organisation’s financial management and reporting.

This position offers a mix of hands-on accounting, financial reporting and responsibility for supporting another team member.

This role is suited to someone looking to progress their career or an experienced professional seeking a varied position.

Key responsibilities

  • Financial accounting: Maintain ledgers, reconciliations, journals, financial controls and rent accounting.

  • Reporting and planning: Support management accounts, budgets, cash-flow forecasts, year-end accounts and audits.

  • Payroll and compliance: Oversee payroll administration, pensions, statutory payments and related financial processes.

  • Team support: Supervise a colleague and contribute to improving financial systems and procedures.

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • A strong background in finance, accounting or bookkeeping.

  • Good knowledge of financial reconciliations, controls and accounting principles.

  • Confidence using accounting software and Excel.

  • Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.

  • The ability to take responsibility and develop your existing knowledge.

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience within social housing, the public sector or a not-for-profit organisation.

  • Exposure to management accounts, budgets or financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of rent accounting, factoring or housing finance systems.

  • An accounting qualification or progression towards one.

  • Experience supporting or supervising colleagues.

Don’t rule yourself out because you haven’t covered every responsibility.

We’re interested in candidates who can demonstrate sound financial knowledge, relevant practical experience and the potential to develop further.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary: £42,707-£46,895, EVH Grade 7.

  • Permanent employment: 35 hours per week.

  • Hybrid working: Home working Monday and Friday.

  • Office attendance: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Flexible working: Flexible start and finish times.

  • Flexitime: Up to seven hours within each four-week cycle.

  • Pension: Workplace pension scheme.

The organisation

You’ll be joining a community-focused housing association serving communities in the Stirling area. The finance team plays an important role in supporting the organisation’s financial stability and services. This is an opportunity to contribute to a purpose-led organisation while developing your finance career.
