Safeguarding Officer – London

Help create a college environment where students feel safe, supported and heard.

Morgan Hunt is looking to hear from experienced Safeguarding Officers interested in opportunities within further education in London.

This role would suit someone who builds trust with young people, responds calmly to sensitive situations and works confidently with colleagues and external agencies.

The role

  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and disclosures, following college procedures.

  • Support students experiencing welfare concerns or difficulties affecting their education.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and follow up on safeguarding actions.

  • Work with teaching staff, support teams and external agencies to coordinate support.

  • Help staff and students understand how to recognise and report concerns.

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for learners, including those with SEND.

About you

  • Experience in safeguarding or student welfare within education or a similar setting.

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and referral processes.

  • Confidence handling sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.

  • Strong record-keeping, organisation and communication skills.

  • Experience supporting young people and learners with additional needs is desirable.
