We are seeking a passionate and motivated Sports & Public Services Lecturer to join Further Education colleges across East London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lecturer or industry professional with a passion for education to inspire and develop the next generation of learners. You will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Sport and Public Services programmes, helping students build the knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and employability skills they need to progress into further study, employment, or their chosen career.

The Role

As a Sports & Public Services Lecturer, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, innovative, and high-quality lessons across Sport and Public Services programmes.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated.
  • Develop students’ theoretical knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and employability.
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on students’ work, ensuring they understand how to improve.
  • Monitor and track learner progress, attendance, achievement, and engagement.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with different abilities, backgrounds, and learning needs.
  • Provide effective pastoral and academic support to help learners achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with college and awarding-body requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, quality assurance activities, and wider college initiatives where required.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who can inspire learners and bring their subject knowledge to life.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience teaching Sport and/or Public Services within Further Education or a similar educational setting.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent.
  • A relevant qualification or professional background in Sport, Public Services, or a related discipline.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting learners with a range of abilities and additional learning needs.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, assessment, and record-keeping skills.
  • A positive and engaging teaching style with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • A genuine commitment to student achievement, safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
