MASH IDVA – Bexley

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MASH Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join a safeguarding-focused service in Bexley on an initial 2-month contract.

The successful candidate will provide specialist support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse, working as part of a multi-agency safeguarding environment. You will work closely with partner agencies to assess risk, share information appropriately and ensure victims receive appropriate support and safety planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist, trauma-informed support and advocacy to victims and survivors of domestic abuse.

• Complete comprehensive domestic abuse risk assessments and identify safeguarding concerns.

• Develop and regularly review individual safety and support plans.

• Work within a MASH environment, responding to referrals and assessing information relating to domestic abuse and safeguarding.

• Work closely with Social Care, Police and other relevant agencies to ensure appropriate safeguarding responses.

• Provide advice and guidance to professionals regarding domestic abuse, risk and safeguarding.

• Make appropriate referrals to specialist and statutory services.

• Maintain accurate and confidential case records in line with information-sharing and data protection requirements.

• Attend and contribute to relevant multi-agency meetings where required.

• Advocate for the needs and wishes of victims while maintaining a clear focus on risk and safeguarding.

• Support effective information sharing between agencies to ensure risks are identified and managed appropriately.

Requirements

• Recognised IDVA qualification is essential.

• Valid DBS is required.

• Previous experience working as an IDVA is essential.

• Experience of working within a safeguarding or multi-agency environment.

• Strong understanding of domestic abuse, risk assessment and safety planning.

• Excellent communication, advocacy and partnership-working skills.

• Ability to manage sensitive and complex cases effectively.

• Available to start ASAP.

Contract

This is an initial 2-month contract based in Bexley, with an immediate start required.
