Job Title: Animal Management Lecturer

Location: Greater Manchester

About the Role / Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Animal Care Lecturer to deliver practical components of the animal care course to entry and level 1 learners. This role is ideal for individuals with industry-related experience and a passion for working with learners, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This position presents an opportunity to contribute to the education of aspiring animal care professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver practical lessons in animal care to entry and level 1 learners.
• Provide support to learners with SEND, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
• Monitor and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the learning experience.
• Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Assist in curriculum development and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• Relevant industry experience in animal care.
• Experience working with SEND learners is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to student success and inclusive education.

Education Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Animal Care or related field.
• Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) is desirable.

Experience Requirements:

• Previous teaching experience in Further Education is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate learners.
• Experience in delivering practical training in animal care settings.
