Head of ALS – Permanent Position

This College is looking for a Head of Additional Learning Support (ALS) to join them at this exciting time .

The successful professional will lead the ALS department, ensuring compliance with educational standards and fostering a culture of excellence among a team of dedicated professionals.

Ideally we are looking for someone with a Supported Learning or SEND background within FE or HE

The Role

• Oversee the Additional Learning Support department, ensuring adherence to educational standards.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals dedicated to student support.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the learning experience for students requiring additional support.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services and make recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with academic staff to promote inclusive teaching practices.

The Person

• Experience in a leadership role within a Further Education institution.
• Experience working with students with additional learning needs.
• Demonstrated ability to implement effective support strategies.
• Proven leadership experience within an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of educational standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
