Morgan Hunt are seeking an Income Officer to join a Housing Organisation. This role is crucial for undertaking timely and robust recovery actions to prevent arrears and maximise income. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective escalation and recovery actions are identified and executed, supporting tenants in improving their financial and digital capabilities. The Income Officer will also provide excellent customer service while managing accounts and making referrals to internal and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement prompt recovery actions from the onset of tenancy.
  • Proactively monitor rent accounts and implement effective solutions to prevent tenant debt.
  • Maintain regular contact with tenants regarding their commitments and arrangements.
  • Provide advice on financial inclusion products and services.
  • Draft legal documentation and understand relevant laws regarding rent arrears.
  • Conduct home visits to provide benefit advice and support tenants.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a social housing setting or understanding the issues faced by vulnerable tenants.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of housing policies and welfare benefits.
  • Ability to manage complex disputes effectively.
  • Proficiency in computerised data systems.

Education Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of Housing Law as it applies to Tenancy Management.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience of providing advice on housing, welfare benefits, and/or rent arrears.
  • Experience in a debt collection or credit control environment.
  • Ability to analyse financial information and make informed decisions.
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment.
