Male Learning Support Workers – East London

Supporting Learners with Complex Needs and Personal Care

Morgan Hunt is currently recruiting compassionate and experienced Male Learning Support Workers to support students aged 16-19 at leading Further Education colleges across East London.

The role involves supporting learners with complex needs, mobility difficulties and behaviours that may challenge. Some students may require personal care and assistance using a wheelchair.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and classroom support for learners with SEND and complex needs.
• Assist students with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Support wheelchair users with mobility around the college.
• Help manage behaviours that may challenge using appropriate strategies.
• Support learners during lessons, activities and social times.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement.
• Work closely with lecturers, therapists and SEND support teams.

Essential Requirements

• Experience supporting individuals with SEND, complex needs or challenging behaviour.
• Comfortable providing personal care and mobility assistance.
• A calm, patient and compassionate approach.
• Moving and handling training is desirable.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
