Creating Safe, Inclusive Environments Where Every Learner Can Thrive

Are you passionate about safeguarding, inclusion, and supporting learners to achieve their full potential? Do you thrive in a role where you can make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people every day?

We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding & Inclusion Specialist to join a welcoming and inclusive Further Education college in the Oxford area this September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in promoting learner wellbeing, supporting vulnerable students, and ensuring every learner has access to a safe, supportive, and inclusive educational experience.

The Opportunity

As a Safeguarding & Inclusion Specialist, you’ll work closely with learners, teaching staff, parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure safeguarding concerns are managed effectively while championing inclusion across the college.

You’ll be instrumental in supporting learners who may face barriers to education, helping them access the guidance, interventions, and support needed to achieve positive outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing and responding to safeguarding concerns, disclosures, and referrals
  • Supporting learners with wellbeing, inclusion, attendance, and personal development needs
  • Working closely with designated safeguarding leads and wider student support teams
  • Liaising with parents, carers, local authorities, social care teams, and external agencies
  • Maintaining accurate safeguarding records, reports, and case documentation
  • Supporting risk assessments, action plans, and safeguarding investigations where required
  • Promoting a culture of inclusion, equality, and learner wellbeing across the college
  • Identifying barriers to learning and coordinating appropriate support for learners
  • Providing advice and guidance to staff and learners on safeguarding and inclusion matters

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within safeguarding, inclusion, pastoral support, student welfare, youth work, education, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice
  • Knowledge of supporting learners with additional needs and barriers to learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
  • Experience working with young people or vulnerable adults
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • A genuine commitment to learner wellbeing, inclusion, and positive outcomes

Why Apply?

  • Temporary opportunity
  • September start
  • Supportive and inclusive college environment
  • Opportunity to make a genuine difference to learners’ lives
  • Collaborative and rewarding team culture
  • Varied and meaningful role with real impact
  • Be part of a team dedicated to safeguarding, inclusion, and student success

If you’re looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can help create safer, more inclusive learning environments while supporting learners to overcome barriers and achieve their goals, we’d love to hear from you.
