Working closely with lecturers, learning support teams, and wider college staff, you’ll use your British Sign Language skills and communication expertise to create an inclusive learning environment where every learner has the opportunity to thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting learners to access lessons, workshops, and all aspects of college life
  • Using British Sign Language (BSL) and other communication methods to facilitate learning and understanding

  • Supporting study skills, literacy development, note-taking, and organisation
  • Helping learners work towards their EHCP targets and personal goals
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff to remove barriers to learning and promote inclusion
  • Providing communication support during educational visits, work experience placements, and examinations where required

What We’re Looking For

  • BSL Level 1, 2, or 3 qualification
  • Confidence communicating using British Sign Language
  • A positive, patient, and learner-centred approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting learners to achieve their full potential
  • Experience within education, SEND, learner support, or communication support is desirable

Why Apply?

  • September start
  • Supportive and inclusive college environment
  • Make a genuine difference to learners every day
  • Use your BSL skills to create opportunities and break down barriers
  • A rewarding role where you’ll see the positive impact of your work

If you’re looking for a rewarding opportunity where your BSL skills can inspire confidence, promote inclusion, and help learners achieve their ambitions, we’d love to hear from you.
