We are currently working with a well-established Further Education College in Crawley that is looking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic Media Studies Lecturer to join their team on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to move into teaching. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across a range of Media Studies qualifications, helping students develop the creative, analytical and technical skills needed for further study or careers within the media and creative industries.

The Role

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Media Studies programmes, including subjects such as digital media, film, television, journalism, advertising and media production.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that inspire learners and support academic achievement.
  • Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and monitor learner progress.
  • Support students in developing both practical media production skills and critical analysis.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with college policies and awarding body requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A recognised qualification in Media Studies, Media Production, Film, Journalism or a related subject.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) is desirable, although support may be available for industry professionals looking to gain one.
  • Experience teaching within Further Education is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary media, production techniques and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for education and helping learners achieve their full potential.
