Criminal Justice Worker (Fixed-Term Contract)

Are you an experienced Criminal Justice and Substance Misuse professional looking for your next opportunity? We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Criminal Justice Worker to join our team on a fixed-term contract until 30 October 2026.

This rewarding role involves supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system to reduce offending, improve their well being and achieve lasting recovery. Working closely with Police, Probation, HM Courts, Housing, Health and Social Care partners, you’ll deliver person-centred assessments, interventions and recovery planning that make a genuine difference.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing a caseload of service users and delivering holistic assessments.
• Completing Alcohol Treatment Requirement (ATR) and Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) reports and working closely with criminal justice partners.
• Delivering one-to-one interventions and developing personalised recovery plans.
• Completing comprehensive risk assessments and implementing effective risk management plans.
• Working collaboratively with courts, probation, police, healthcare providers, housing services and community organisations.
• Maintaining accurate and timely case records, care plans and progress notes.
• Promoting safeguarding and working in accordance with legislation, policies and professional standards.
• Supporting individuals to access treatment and other services, reduce reoffending and achieve sustainable recovery.

Essential requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Experience working within Criminal Justice services.
• Experience completing ATR (Alcohol Treatment Requirement) and DRR (Drug Rehabilitation Requirement) reports.
• Substance Misuse experience, including supporting individuals with complex needs.
• An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards it.
• Experience of assessment, recovery planning and risk management.
• Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
• Strong organisational skills and experience maintaining accurate case records.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT-informed interventions and safeguarding is highly desirable.
