Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

About the Role / Job Summary:

As a Kitchen Assistant working at a College in Greater Manchester, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs with basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and managing stock. Your tasks will include chopping ingredients, pot washing, sanitizing workstations, and storing deliveries while strictly adhering to food safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within the education sector, contributing to the culinary education of our students

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist chefs with food preparation and kitchen hygiene

· Deep clean ovens and sinks as required

· Manage stock and ensure kitchen cleanliness

· Chop ingredients and wash pots

· Sanitize workstations and store deliveries

· Adhere to food safety standards

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of kitchen operations and hygiene practices

· Ability to work as part of a team

· Strong communication skills

Education Requirements:

· Food Hygiene certification

· Food Safety certification

Experience Requirements:

· Experience working in a commercial kitchen is essential
