Job Title: Employability Tutor – Warwickshire (Permanent, Further Education)

Location: Coventry, Warwickshire

Salary: £27,000 per annum

About the Role / Job Summary:

A well-established charity is seeking an Employability Tutor to support post-16 learners to gain work readiness, essential skills, and progression into further study, apprenticeships, or employment. You will deliver engaging programmes from Entry Level to Level 2, embedding Functional Skills and GCSE English and maths where required. This role suits a learner-focused tutor who values pastoral support, quality teaching, and positive outcomes. You will be based on-site in Coventry with some local travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess Employability, Personal and Social Development, and sector taster units from Entry Level to Level 2.
  • Embed Functional Skills and GCSE English and maths within vocational and employability delivery.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet diverse needs and promote positive classroom behaviour and engagement.
  • Set clear learning targets, monitor progress, and implement timely interventions to drive achievement.
  • Prepare learners for internal and external assessments, coursework, and examinations.
  • Maintain accurate records, ILPs, and attendance using approved ICT and tracking systems.
  • Ensure compliance with funding, safeguarding, Prevent, and awarding body requirements.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, standardisation, and quality improvement activities.
  • Provide pastoral and tutorial support that promotes wellbeing, resilience, and progression.
  • Build links with apprenticeship teams, employers, and external partners to enhance work-related learning.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 (or above) teaching qualification, or an assessing qualification.
  • Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Evidence of CPD in teaching, learning, assessment, or behaviour management.
  • Maths and English at Level 2 or above.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience teaching English and maths up to Level 2 and delivering employability or study programmes to post-16 learners.
  • Proven classroom behaviour management with inclusive and adaptive teaching practice.
  • Track record of supporting learner progress, retention, and achievement against targets.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills, including use of MIS and e-portfolio systems.
  • Experience working within FE, traineeships, study programmes, or similar settings.

Work Arrangement and Benefits:

  • Full time, permanent. On-site delivery in Coventry, Monday to Friday.
