Learning Facilitator – Further Education College – SEN Provision
Location: Cheadle, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Agency Placement)
Pay Rate: £14.00 – £16.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an inclusive Education College in Greater Manchester for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Facilitator to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting learners with Additional Needs and helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing and inspiring environment.

The role will include:

As a Learning Facilitator, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs and learning difficulties. Helping them access learning and develop independence, growing both academically and socially. Working closely with both the teaching staff, support teams and individual students. Supporting students with needs such as but not limited to:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Communication and interaction difficulties
  • Moderate and complex learning difficulties
  • Behavioural and concentration difficulties

The responsibilities of the role:

  • Providing 1:1 support to students with additional needs
  • Supporting students with engagement and learning activities
  • Encourage independence, confidence and personal development
  • Assisting behavioural support using positive engagement strategies
  • Working collaboratively with both teaching staff and students
  • Adapting learning materials, resources and approaches to meet individual needs of specific students.

The Ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or adults with SEN (education, care, or support settings)
  • A cam, resilient, patient and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
  • Relevant qualifications or training within education or care (E.g. Level 2/3 safeguarding and prevent training, supporting teaching/ teaching assistance) are desirable but not essential.
