We are delighted to be supporting a well-regarded Further Education college in Northamptonshire in the recruitment of a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistant to join their Learning Support team.

✨ About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide high-quality, tailored support to learners, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, improve their study skills, and stay engaged with their learning, while supporting tutors in delivering an inclusive learning environment.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with varying needs
  • Support learners to develop study skills, confidence and independence
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance and support provided
  • Motivate, mentor and support students in achieving their learning goals
  • Assist tutors with classroom activities and practical sessions
  • Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model for learners
  • Build strong, professional relationships with students
  • Support safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practices across the college

You will be a patient, supportive and reliable individual with a passion for helping others succeed.

You’ll have experience working with young people and be confident supporting learners with a range of needs. Strong communication skills, empathy and a proactive approach are key in this role.

You’ll enjoy working as part of a team and be committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

βœ… Essential Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with young people and supporting their individual needs
  • Ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience handling confidential information appropriately

  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs or learning difficulties
  • Experience working in an education setting
