Morgan Hunt are currently working with a national regulatory body in their search for an interim FOI & Public Correspondence Manager to join on a 6-month temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FOI professional to step into a high-impact leadership role, providing subject matter expertise, managing a small team, and helping shape the future of a key public-facing function.
In this role, you will act as the organisation’s lead expert on Freedom of Information (FOI) and related public correspondence, ensuring requests are managed effectively, compliantly and within statutory deadlines. This is a hands-on position with a strong operational focus, requiring someone who can confidently manage end-to-end FOI casework while also leading and supporting a small team handling wider public enquiries, complaints and correspondence.
A significant part of the role will involve building strong working relationships across the organisation, including close collaboration with Legal colleagues and operational stakeholders, to gather information, apply exemptions appropriately, and ensure high-quality responses. You will also play a key role in maintaining service standards, monitoring performance data, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Alongside day-to-day leadership, this role offers the opportunity to support an important period of operational change, including implementation of a new case management system and the introduction of AI-enabled process improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you will help guide the team through this transition, embedding new ways of working while maintaining service quality.
The successful candidate will be a strong FOI specialist with demonstrable expertise in FOI legislation, public correspondence and case handling. You will also bring proven people management experience, resilience, and the confidence to lead in a fast-paced, stakeholder-heavy environment.
