About the role
This position is for a Finance Manager within a well-established housing association based in Glasgow, offering the chance to play a key role in financial leadership, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
You’ll work closely with the Director of Finance and wider leadership team, helping shape financial strategy while ensuring strong controls, accurate reporting, and a high-quality finance service across the organisation and its subsidiaries.
There’s also a strong emphasis on:
- Working closely with non-finance teams and helping them understand performance
- Maintaining robust controls and governance in a regulated environment
- Supporting ongoing improvements, particularly around systems and reporting
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys being hands-on but also wants to be part of the bigger picture, contributing to how the housing association plans and delivers its services for the future.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the delivery of monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
- Support the annual business plan and long-term financial planning
- Prepare and oversee statutory accounts and external audit processes
- Manage treasury activities, loan accounts, and cash flow forecasting
- Provide financial insight to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory returns (SHR, OSCR, HMRC, FCA)
- Oversee payroll, VAT, and financial controls across the organisation
- Support and develop the finance team, ensuring a high-performing function
What we’re looking for
Must haves:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA or similar)
- Experience producing statutory accounts and leading on audit processes
- Strong background in management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ability to present financial information clearly to senior stakeholders
- Previous experience of managing or supervising finance staff
Nice to have:
- Experience within housing or a regulated environment
- Exposure to treasury, funding, or development finance
- Experience implementing or improving finance systems, such as Homemaster, Rubixx or Brik
