Morgan Hunt are currently supporting a key public sector organisation with the hire of a Principal Cyber Security Engineer (G6) within their Data, Technology & Insights function, and your profile caught my attention.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on strengthening cloud and infrastructure security across a complex, regulated environment. You’d play a key role in:
Creating and executing remediation plans following security assessments and audits
Managing and optimising Microsoft Sentinel (data tuning, connectors, threat intelligence)
Overseeing Microsoft Defender for Endpoint & Defender for Cloud
Working with Darktrace (model tuning, autonomous response, email module)
Leading incident response, root cause analysis and SOC engagement
Supporting secure architecture, IAM, DLP and third-party risk
Ensuring alignment with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 and NCSC CAF
Key requirements:
Experience with Microsoft security tooling (Sentinel, Defender suite)
Strong knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud security
Experience securing Microsoft client/server technologies (Windows 11, Windows Server, SQL Server)
Background in security operations, threat monitoring and incident response
Ability to analyse security logs/events and support forensic investigations
SC Clearance desirable (not essential)
Package & working model:
£73,441 salary
Permanent position
2 days per week onsite in Canary Wharf, London
