Finance Manager (Social Housing)

Glasgow
Hybrid
£50,000 to £55,000

A Glasgow-based and mission-driven housing association is looking for a new Finance Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of strong financial management in delivering safe, affordable homes and high quality services for communities. If you enjoy influencing decisions, partnering with operational teams, and improving financial performance across essential services, this is a great opportunity.

You’ll play a key part in supporting both day-to-day performance and long-term planning, working closely with operational managers and the senior leadership team with your experience of working within social housing previously, developing on financial leadership, business partnering, and hands-on management accounting.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you’ll take a central role in supporting key services across the organisation. Your insight will help shape operational decisions, long-term investment choices, and the delivery of value for money.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and reporting packs for leadership

  • Providing financial guidance to housing, property, and support service teams

  • Leading budget setting, forecasting, and medium-term financial planning

  • Supporting year end, statutory accounts, and regulatory submissions

  • Monitoring financial performance and advising on early corrective actions

  • Strengthening financial controls and compliance

  • Assisting with new development projects, planned maintenance investment, and funding proposals

  • Supporting process improvements across finance and wider teams

This is a collaborative role where you’ll build strong relationships and help colleagues understand the financial impact of decisions in a customer focused environment.

About You

You’ll be a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with solid experience in management accounting, financial reporting, or business partnering. You don’t need to come directly from another housing association, but you must be comfortable in a regulated, community focused setting.

You’ll bring:

  • Confidence explaining financial information to non finance colleagues

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to challenge constructively

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Experience managing competing priorities and deadlines

  • Curiosity and the desire to support service improvement

Experience within social housing, local government, charities, or other regulated sectors is an advantage.

Whether you’re already operating at Finance Manager level or stepping up from a senior management accounting/business partnering role, you’ll find this a rewarding next move.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary £50,000 to £55,000

  • 35 hour working week and hybrid working (at least 3 days per week in the Glasgow office)

  • 40 days annual leave, enhanced pension and additional public sector benefits

  • Supportive culture with genuine opportunities to grow

  • A role where your work makes real impact to the local communities
