Are you passionate about supporting survivors of domestic abuse and driving positive change?

We’re looking for a committed and empathetic Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to join our dedicated team, delivering a high-quality service to individuals at high risk of harm from domestic violence.

About the Role

As an IDVA, you will provide a proactive, survivor-led service, conducting risk and needs assessments, developing safety and support plans, and advocating on behalf of survivors with external agencies. A key element of this role is working in a multi-agency framework to improve outcomes and safety, including regular representation at MARAC meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored support and information to survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence.
  • Represent clients and advocate on their behalf with external agencies including criminal justice partners.
  • Support survivors through the criminal justice process.
  • Liaise and coordinate risk management with community-based and statutory organisations.
  • Contribute to team communications, case reviews, and duty cover rota.
  • Provide support in co-located community settings and during monthly One Stop Shops.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records and contribute to reporting and monitoring.
  • Support the voice and feedback of service users in shaping the service.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting women affected by domestic and sexual abuse.
  • Strong understanding of the impacts of domestic violence on women and children.
  • Skilled in risk assessment, safety planning, and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Knowledge of housing, legal, and support options available to survivors.
  • Understanding of safeguarding processes for both adults and children.
  • Excellent communication, crisis management, and casework skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic caseload.

Qualifications

  • A SafeLives (CAADA) IDVA or DAPA qualification is desirable. Willingness to work towards one is essential.

What We Offer

  • A supportive, inclusive, and values-driven team environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Flexible working arrangements (including hybrid options).

We value diversity and welcome applications from all sections of the community, particularly those with lived experience of domestic abuse.
