Neurodiversity Lead – Criminal Justice Service

Based in the Community with Drop-in at HMP Bronzefield

Full-Time | Temporary for 3 months with the potential to extend | £16-£20 Per Hour | 21 hours per week over 3 days

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for neurodivergent women in or leaving the criminal justice system? We are seeking a Neurodiversity Lead to work across prison and community settings, supporting women with neurodiverse needs through their transition back into the community.

This is a female-only role, permitted under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

About the Role

Working in partnership with healthcare and education teams within HMP Bronzefield and community services, you’ll provide specialist support to women who present with or are diagnosed with neurodivergent needs. You’ll act as a key advocate, linking women with primary and secondary care services and ensuring they have the support they need pre- and post-release.

You will hold a caseload and deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, attending multi-agency meetings and contributing to safety planning, mental health support pathways, and resettlement plans. A key part of your role will be building effective pathways between prison and community services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and support neurodivergent women in custody and the community
  • Develop individual support and action plans with clients
  • Hold a caseload and deliver face-to-face support, crisis intervention, and advocacy
  • Liaise with GPs, NHS services, mental health teams, and voluntary agencies
  • Attend multi-agency case meetings and contribute to safety documentation (e.g., ACCT)
  • Support women through the gate on release and in early resettlement
  • Record and monitor outcomes in line with contract requirements

About You

You’re empathetic, resilient, and passionate about supporting women with complex needs. You have experience in a relevant role-ideally within criminal justice, mental health, or support services-and can demonstrate your ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-agency setting.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting women with neurodiverse or complex needs
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and mental health
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills
  • The ability to develop action plans and manage a varied caseload
  • Confidence in working in secure environments and with health care teams
  • A trauma-informed, person-centred approach

Ready to be a driving force for change in the lives of neurodivergent women?

We encourage applications from women of all backgrounds, particularly those from diverse and underrepresented communities.
