About the Role – Senior Partnership Accounting Manager | London | Legal Sector

This newly created Senior Partnership Accounts Manager position is a key appointment following an internal restructure. The role has been elevated in scope and responsibility, sitting at the intersection of Partner Payroll and Partnership Accounting. You’ll drive integration, manage financial risk, and support leadership with critical business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Partner Payroll and Partnership Accounting functions, ensuring cohesive operations across both areas.
  • Manage a team of 3 direct and 2 indirect reports.
  • Act as a strategic and operational bridge between departments, optimising processes and communication.
  • Own reconciliation processes, proactively surfacing and resolving financial variances.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to enable senior stakeholders to focus on wider firm initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement, system development, and transformation projects.
  • Contribute to weekly senior management meetings, sharing insights and operational updates.

Ideal Candidate:

To succeed in this Senior Partnership Accounting Manager role, you will be a seasoned finance professional who is comfortable managing senior stakeholders and guiding cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in Partnership Accounting, Management Accounting, and reconciliation-heavy environments.
  • Proven leadership of both direct and matrixed teams.
  • A process-driven mindset and the ability to manage system implementation and business transformation.
  • Willingness to engage in the detail of payroll processes, though previous payroll experience is not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work with COOs, CFOs, and Group Heads.
  • A hands-on, collaborative leadership style-this is not a detached oversight role.
  • Legal or professional services sector experience is highly preferred.
  • International exposure is a plus, though not essential.

Additional Role Information:

  • The role does not involve tax responsibilities.
  • Supports process standardisation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Hybrid working with flexible arrangements; typical team collaboration occurs on Thursdays.
  • One team member is based in Dubai-flexibility for international collaboration is key.
  • Designed to reduce key-person dependency on bespoke internal systems.
