We’re working with a fantastic college in Birmingham, who are on the lookout for their next Deputy Director of Student Experience. This newly created role is ideal for someone with a strong track record of delivering high levels of student support and who is capable of remaining calm, resilient and objective when dealing with complex and sensitive issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver Student Experience strategies and initiatives with the Leadership Team – creating a strong and vibrant college community which improves the student experience and embraces diversity, inclusion and the college’s commitment to being an anti-racist organisation.
  • Undertake responsibilities as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), leading a team of DDSLs across colleges/services and working with curriculum/quality teams to monitor student safeguarding and prevent awareness.
  • Lead the delivery through Pastoral Managers of a highly effective pastoral services which meet the needs of students and ensures outstanding levels of attendance, retention, and positive progression, ensuring that the service is delivered in a sensitive way which is highly focused on the students’ needs.

Key Requirements:

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead Certified and Prevent trained currently valid and undertaken within the last 2 years.
  • A strong track record of successful leadership with highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working under pressure and adapting to incoming priorities whilst maintaining services and galvanising managers and teams to deliver.
