The opportunity

To help achieve our goals, we’re looking for a Data Analyst to develop and share insight about our workforce. Your work as our Data Analyst will not only guide decision making, but will support in empowering us as people professionals to make informed and actionable recommendations.

You’ll lead the way by:

  • Identifying and building insightful data and information sources, that enable visibility and support business decision making.
  • Leading the interpretation of data to establish the root cause of current and emerging workforce issues, driving improvement and innovation across the organisation.
  • Taking responsibility for the University’s reporting obligations such as our Staff Higher Education Statistical Analysis Return (HESA) and Gender & Ethnicity Pay Gap.
  • Connecting with our People Services teams to align people data with business intelligence, generating insights that can instigate change.

What we’re looking for
With experience of using data visualisation techniques, you’ll be able to craft insightful reports and effectively present to a range of internal and external stakeholders. As our Data Analyst, you’ll use your curiosity skills to detect opportunities and implement ideas for improvement and think creatively to solve problems.

Additionally, you’ll:

  • Confidently use business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlikview or SAP Analytics to analyse and articulate complex data.
  • Think creatively to solve problems and turn these into actionable recommendations.
  • Hold a degree, or have equivalent professional experience in a related field.
