Summary

We are currently seeking several Content Designers to become part of our team, offering a combination of Permanent and Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) positions.

There’s never been a more exciting time to work in Content Marketing at the National Trust. You’ll be joining at the start of an exciting transition for the Content Marketing Team. You’ll be creating, managing and evaluating the content on our website to meet our audiences needs and our organisational objectives. You’ll be helping shape and deliver the content we deliver through our web channel and making our cross-channel journeys make sense. You’ll also work with the wider Innovation & Digital team to input into the future development of our web channel.

We are currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2024.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

 

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be creating, optimising and evaluating our national website content. You’ll have a great understanding of web content best-practice and SEO. You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation at all levels, so you’ll need to be able to build effective relationships and be able to communicate effectively. You’ll need to be comfortable with numbers and making recommendations based on analytics data. You’ll be a creative thinker and problem solver. You’ll enjoy working in a busy team. You’ll be comfortable supporting with the training of web editors at both regional and property level.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in written content creation, ideally for diverse online audiences
  • A wealth of experience of using web content management systems
  • Knowledge of copyright laws and other appropriate legislation.
  • The ability to be flexible, adaptable and proactive with a positive mindset
  • Have great planning, organisation and attention to detail skills
  • A good understanding of accessibility standards for web.
  • Exposure of working with various stakeholders across multiple teams
  • Experience working and contributing effectively as part of a team
